Day Hike Schedule

Hike to Indulge walks are a great way to meet new friends, get some exercise and enjoy the stunning English countryside.  All hikes take place about 90 minutes from London and are intended as a low impact workout at a brisk pace with a cool down and  optional stretch. You have two options:

EXODUS daywalks are small social groups suitable for all abilities with a indulgent lunch and plenty of travel banter included. Book through Exodus at http://www.exodus.co.uk/uk-walking#punchbowl

H2I Meetups are fast paced hilly hikes only for fit people who want a no -frill workout in the countryside and don't mind a large but social group. Book and pay through PayPal at http://www.meetup.com/Hike-to-Indulge/

Please book in advance least 2 days before weekend hikes registering and paying in advance using Paypal .

By booking it is implied that you accept the risk, that walking is a cardio vascular exercise in the outdoors and that possible injury can occur from such streneous activities and unpredictable  factors  such as weather, animals, traffic and uneven trails and terrain. You may be asked to sign a statement of good health and a liabilty release form before starting the hike.

This is a long challenging walk of awesome natural beauty and variety. You will have spectacular coastal views and pass through magical forest. The highlight is hiking up and down the steep chalky Sisters. We stop for a picnic lunch on top of one of the middle sisters

Train departs from Victoria 8:47 am, change at Lewes at 9:48, arrive at Seaford at 10:10 am

KENT COUNTRYSIDE HIKE -Limpsfield Chart, Chartwell & Westerham 

Amazing south facing views over Kent and Surrey. Passing Winston Churchill’s house and seeing the incredible Oast houses are two of the highlights of this walk. There are many working farms to pass and woodlands to cross. . At just over the half- way point, we make a quick stop in at the bustling village of Westerham for a picnic lunch on the village green.

From London exit at Junction 6 from M25. Go south down the A22. Turn left at the roundabout to Oxted Road / A25/ Westerham Road. Drive 3.5 miles. Make a right down Kent Hatch Road. Carpenters Arms will be a mile down on your left and the free Pine Wood car park another 100 meters down

12.5 km easy to moderate walking

The route is undulating but a little less challenging than the recent Hike to Indulge walks. What it lacks in big ascents it makes up for in pure beauty

HILLS OF GORING AND THAMES PATH

The path goes from a riverside village to National Trust land with seriously steep hill and views of unspoilt countryside that make you go wow. We descend into a few miles of flat farmland before heading back up a gentler hill to the tropical looking forest above Thurle Down. We stop for a picnic lunch and enjoy the lush sweeping views. The last leg is the always lovely Thames path.

Pass through, forest, farmland and along the lovely Tillingbourne river. Get a mini Olympic workout on legs with a hike up Saint Martha's hill before lunch. We stop for lunch at a  riverside pub.

This is a very hilly walk of awesome natural beauty and variety. We start  with a warm up with a flat River Cuckmere area before ascending to the rolling cliffs of the Sussex coast and the famous Seven Sisters  coastal chalk South Downs path. We stop for a fresh gourmet picnic lunch. Spectacular sea views to right and rolling farmlands to your left. On our way back we meander through the charming Friston Forest. A walk not to be missed

Meet outside Seven Sister Country Park vistors Centre at 11:00 am.

Trains go fom London Victoria every half hour. Then a short 10 minute bus or cab ride to start point

From London (Victoria)
Take the London – Eastbourne train and change at Lewes for the Seaford train. At Seaford, come out of the station and the bus stop is on the opposite side of the road on the left (next to ‘Flowers’ furniture shop). Take the 12, 12A or 13 bus to the Country Park at Exceat. Buses are every 15 minutes.

An exciting full day learning to rock climb under the watchful eye of highly qualified Mountaineering Instructor and operator Rob of Touch the Rock. Technical climbing equipment provided (harness, helmets, and ropes). Bring your own lunch.  No experience needed but must be in good health and willing to sign a liability release.

Hikes are lead by a highly qualified personal trainer, who will encourage you to optimize your cardio vascular abilities.  Wearing a heart rate monitor is encouraged but not required. Your guide will be happy to advise on training for trekking prepartion, walking for weight loss or anyother fitness goals. You can expect to burn 500 to 1000 calories.

Lunch is not included in the cost of the hike unless stated.
